Russell Crowe condemns US legal system
Actor Russell Crowe, who pleaded guilty to assault last year in the US, claims the incident would have been played down in his home country of Australia.

Crowe, 42, says he regrets throwing a telephone at a hotel clerk last June.
In an interview with CBS, the New Zealand-born Oscar winner claims the US legal system is "open to be misused".
"Where I come from, a confrontation as basic and simple as that would have been satisfied with a handshake and an apology," he said.
Apparently, the US legal system is now to blame for the phone-throwing incident.
Funny thing is, that where I come from, bouncing a telephone off a hotel worker's skull is known as assault. Doing it because the phone 'wouldn't work' is known as 'Throwing your toys out the pram', 'Being a big baby', 'Spitting out the dummy' or as I would say, being a huffy shite.
Best of all, is that a handshake is reported to have been exactly what Crowe refused to exchange with Estrada, the hapless victim of the 4am-phone-wouldn't-work-to-Australia incident.
