Paris Hilton ordered back to jail
Who can't help but snigger at the Paris Hilton jail saga? The heiress has now been ordered back to jail by the sentencing Superior Court Judge, Michael T. Sauer, after being released from jail by the sympathetic Sheriff, Lee Baca, having spent just three days of her time despite the Judge specifically stating "she will not be allowed any work release, furloughs, use of an alternative jail or electronic monitoring in lieu of jail".
It's good for the little people who aren't born into the wealth and power of the Hilton's to see justice being done.
Hilton's crimes
Let's not forget what Paris Hilton was found guilty of and how she actually found herself spending time in jail. She had her chances to avoid the slammer - all she needed to do was keep her nose clean after pleading 'no contest' to reckless driving, the result of a failed sobriety test in September 2006.
Her sentence to that offence was 36 months probation, $1,500 fines and alcohol education - and a suspended license.
In the months that followed she was stopped twice while driving on a suspended license. The second stop landed her in Sauer's courtroom.
It clearly didn't occur to Ms Hilton that the law really did apply to her and that her family's wealth or influence would not be able to get her off the hook.
It will probably do her good.
